Amalfi Coast SITA Bus Usage

Just a few questions regarding usage of the SITA Buses during Amalfi Coast Visit

December 1 Sorrento to Positano (late morning) E 2.20 10:00a - 10:50a
December 3 Positano to Amalfi (Late Morning) E 2.20 10:05a - 10:55a
Amalfi to Ravello and Back E 4.40 ????
December 4 Amalfi to Salerno E 3.40 8:00a - 9:15a

The tickets are by time validity. Is this for the entire trip or just when I board? Do I need to purchase tickets beforehand or can I do so on the bus when boarding?

My thought was to do the single fare to Positano and the 24 hour for the Dec 3 and Dec trips.

Any guidance or thoughts is greatly appreciated.

Do the single ticket Sorrento-Positano.
Then the 3 day ticket may make more sense if you plan on stopping in any of the villages on the way to Salerno.
Ticket is good for 1 ride, so if you stop to explore, then get on again, it's another ticket.

Tickets can be bought at the train station in Sorrento, bars and cafes and tobacco shops and news stands.

Gerri,

The only thing I wasn't clear on is when the "clock starts". Does it start when I board and does it need to be valid when I get off?
For example if it is a 1 hour trip do I need the 45 minute or 90 minute ticket?

One other question, can I buy the tickets in advance in Sorrento and use them 2 days later ?

How crowded will the buses be the first week of December?
