We will be travelling to the Amalfi Coast at the end of October (21st through 24th).

Are all shops closed on Sundays?

Not in our experience. Still a busy time with lots of visitors to sell things to!

Just had a thought, some shops in the area close for an afternoon break at about 1pm and then re-open between 4 and 5pm so plan your shopping accordingly. I have seen examples of people saying that places are more or less closed for the day/winter because they have visited during this time period!

Italians tend to eat a bit later than we do (though not so late as Spaniards). Restaurants definitely don't close for the afternoon at 1 PM. Sorry that I can't tell you what time is typical. That info should be in your guidebook, though.

If you mean shops that cater for tourists, no. If you mean those for locals (groceries, pharmacies . . . ) yes.

Touristy shops wil, be open but locally serving shops and smaller establishments will have limited hours. Usually closing for a few hours late afternoon and reopen in the evening.
