Amalfi Coast itinerary

Hello,
Hoping for some advice here...
We are a family of 8: mom & dad, 6 kids ages 9 to 20.
We will be in Amalfi at the end of June.
We arrive on a Friday, around 2pm, into Naples. Transportation to our AirBnB has been arranged. AirBnB is in Amalfi.

Saturday: chill day, hoping to see Emerald Grotto which is 8 min drive from our AirBnB, and attend an evening Mass at St. Andrew's.

Sunday: Booked the Capri boat tour through Mondo Tours

Monday: Visit Pompeii, Ravello, Amalfi also through Mondo Tours

Tuesday: Depart for Florence

In the interest of not being overscheduled, I opted to skip the visit to Positano and see it from the boat en route to Capri (I assume we'll see it?!)

Questions I have:

  1. What about Sorrento? Worth squeezing in? where? on that Monday when we're already at Pompeii? Or is this too much and we should skip it?

  2. We are all gluten intolerant. We are hoping to have our own breakfast at the AirBnB, for us this means eggs and some kind of meat. We are relatively non-picky. Any suggestions on a grocery store in Amalfi? How easy is it to eat gluten free in this area? (we are ok with a little cross contamination, and don't need "replacements" like gf pasta, gf bread, etc.)

  3. How do we get places!? For example - to the grocery store. Walk? are there Ubers? with 8 of us, this may be a challenge? We also need to get to the meeting place for the Capri tour by 8am, google Maps says it is a 25 min walk from our AirBnB, or a 5 min drive. Is it easy to catch a cab at that time of morning?! how does one do that? Or is there a bus? how do we find the schedule knowing we have to be at the meetup point by a set time?

  4. It seems from info I found online that there is a 5:15pm Saturday evening Mass at St. Andrew's Cathedral in Amalfi - any suggestions on how to confirm this before we go?

Thank you, wonderful community!!

Good idea to skip Positano. It is wonderful to see from the water but the town is mostly shops and restaurants although is has a lovely church. We went there for a wedding and we were kept busy but there is not much to do there in my opinion. If the Cathedral you want says mass is at 5:15 I would assume it is up to date but just ask anyone in town. Even you driver might verify this. FYI be certain to dress covering up yourself Such as no bare shoulders, no shorts etc. or you might not be admitted. When we went to the wedding mass in Positano there were several women from the town standing at the door handing out scarves to the women who had not covered up properly.

You won't have any problem maintaining a gluten free diet anywhere in Italy. In fact, you will be pleasantly surprised at all the options available to you! I carried home an amazing GF pannetone last Christmas that I bought for about 5 euros in a regular grocery store. One small example. Most restaurants offer GF pasta and bread.
Enjoy!

I hope others will respond on the transportation issue. I can't help on that topic, but I'm worried about how you'll get to the meeting point for the tour. Where exactly is that? And where does the tour end?

I would just plan on doing the walk, 25 minutes is really nothing in the big scheme of things when you think about how much walking you will be doing in this area. I always ask my accommodation host first when possibly needing rides (have gotten free rides in many cases, but they should know a driver and about bus routes). Also, be sure to zoom in on google maps—bus stops are shown there, and then you can do some digging for the schedules. In the early morning, schedules are probably on time, but in later hours I would not rely on schedule accuracy. A private transfer will need to be booked.
Google maps will show grocery store too, or again ask the host what they recommend.
