Amalfi Coast in November

Would you visit the Amalfi Coast in late November?

It would not be top of my list, but possibly. What is the rest of the itinerary? For example, if you were visiting Naples but got a stretch of nice sunny days, I’d consider it. But I would not plan something inflexible.

Would I? No. The ferries won't be running. Some places will be closed for the season. It will be too cool to hang out on the beaches (such as they are). And with the possibility of rainy days, hiking the hills will be iffy. OTOH, you certainly won't have to be concerned about crowds.

Personally, I would not find the rainiest month of November on the AC Coast with many businesses shuttered and cold ocean temperatures to be conducive to a visit there.

I wouldn't. We did Naples and a trip to Pompeii and Paestum instead. We had wonderful weather for city/ruins touring but it was too cold to think about beaches. I'd highly recommend Pompeii or Paestum in November, we were almost alone at Paestum, and a large part of Pompeii was empty except us when we toured.

OH! I totally forgot! (As I am trying my darndest to get someone to go....) The Luci d'artista are in Salerno at the end of November through the beginning of January! If you're in Naples or Campania, you should take a trip to check it out!

we watch a vlogger who lives in Positano, she says the summers are crazy busy and the rest of the year is crickets. Since almost everyone works the tourist trade, they are 24/7 during the season and then ... they disappear. Many go to Thailand!

Many hotels and restaurants on the Amalfi Coast close down in early November.

Our first AC visit was a million years ago during December. Rainy, depressing and lacking in spirit. As though to signify all that, we got targeted by some nasty 19 year olds who tossed cherry bombs at us on the outskirts of Positano! That was somehow symbolic.

Now I'll do a 180 and say that sometimes, depending on destination plus your expectations, off-season travel can sometimes result in very special, very rare opportunities for the adventurous traveler with the right attitude.

But the thing with the AC is that its all about sun and light and colour, yeah?
I am done. the end

Hello,
Ferries DO run all year round - not as many or as often as in the summer months but they do run! I say go!! Ive been to Italy many times in Nov/Dec and have had great weather! Im actually going to Naples end of Nov/beginning of Dec and plan on doing day trips to Ischia , Precida and Capri and Amalfi. Just prepare for all kinds of weather bring a umbrella a rain jacket - take the trip!
