Amalfi Coast in January

We will be in Rome in January and thinking about where to go afterwards. We would like to see the Amalfi Coast but that area is all about its spectacular beauty, and not sure what it would be like in January. Anyone spent time in the area that time of year? Is it worthwhile or are we wasting our time and should save it for another time of year? Grazie mille!

As it is one of my favorite european areas , i would go anytime. It is *gorgeous. Sure it will be cooler and maybe showery, but there is so much there. Ambiance, i would not miss it, but weather does not deter me from going to a great destination.

I've been to Sorrento in February and it was gorgeous weather, shorts and T-shirt for me, winter coats, hats and scarves for the locals (or other tourists more used to warmer climes).

I’ve driven the road from Sorrento to Amalfi just before Christmas. It was not crowded, few tourists, a lot of restaurants closed for season and, perhaps, one of the most scenic roads I’ve ever been on. Early December this year I’m driving Sorrento >Amalfi and then through Salerno to Paestum. It’s not beach weather but the scenery and views are there 24/7/365. It is well worth the visit.
