We're starting to finalize our time and we're thinking it'd be best to do the following: 5 nights in Sorrento 3 nights in Ravello/Amalfi
3 nights in Rome The biggest question that we have right now is if we should stay in Ravello or one of the surrounding towns. We'd like to use our time in Ravello/Amalfi to hike, visit Ravello Gardens, and visit the greek ruins in Paestum. Would Amalfi or another town near by be a better transportation hub? We will not have car. Also, please send any hotel recommendations that you may have for Sorrento or Amalfi/Ravello. Thank you!!

I would stay in Amalfi. Ravello is VERY tiny and can easily been seen on a day trip from Amalfi. Have you been to Italy before? I would spend more time in Rome IMO.

Thanks for the feedback - that's good to know the size of Ravello. Yes, we have already been to Rome! We wanted to just spend a few days there before we head back home to Seattle. Any suggestions for staying in Amalfi? Does it matter if you stay a little ways out of town?

Since you are so close, you should really consider staying in Positano for a couple of nights. Five nights in Sorrento may be more than you need. It's' a nice town, but not nearly as quaint and magical as Positano. There is a great hotel called Hotel California (Totally cheesy name, but it's beautiful, with fabulous views of Positano). There are lots of great restaurants, and shopping, and the beach is lovely. I know, just one more thing to look into when you are trying to plan a trip, sorry! :) I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon! Joan
