We are going to travel in Sept. and will have a rental car we will be dropping in Sorrento. We are exploring ways to get to Amalfi (the town) to start a hiking trip along the coast. I need some info on the best ways to book a ferry from Sorrento to Amalfi. Also, I understand that the ferry's can be cancelled if weather is not good. Will be looking to take the bus or a private transfer. There will be 6 of us. Anyone know if the cost for 6 is better by bus or by car? Thanks,

The local SITA bus from Sorrento to Amalfi (and beyond) would be an easy and economical option if the ferry option doesn't work out.

Hi Dave, The one thing I DON'T recommend is driving it yourself. We just returned from there and it was scary enough by bus. BUT...beautiful !!!!!
