I wanted to travel to the Amalfi coast during my daughter's spring break. We would be arriving the Saturday before Easter but I don't to get there only finding everything is closed on Easter and Easter Monday. Can anyone share information on this? Perhaps I should wait until the first week in June.

Given the two choices, I say go in June. You will not only avoid holiday closings, the weather is likely to be much nicer. If you do opt for June, I advise you to get busy researching lodging options. June definitely falls into high season, and the AC is a very popular destination. Some hotels and B&B's will show no availability for 2013. That most likely means that they haven't set their prices, yet, or that they just haven't got their systems ready to take next year's requests. You can always call. At the very least, you should make reservations as soon as possible after the 1st of the year. There has been a lot of Amalfi Coast advice recently on this site, on a multitude of questions. I sugggest you do a search to access it. The more you know, the better your planning will be.

Thank you for your suggestions! Planning where to stay is easier then when! I guess June when school is out is a better option - I was hoping to avoid the summer crowds that I have ready about!

The major sites will be open. Easter is the traditional start of the season in the main towns and hotels etc that have closed for the winter re-open. They need to be ready to cater for the influx of Italian visitors at that time. We were in Sorrento in mid March this year and day tripped to Positano and Amalfi and found them quite busy. The significant absences were the ferries along the Amalfi Coast but, weather permitting, there were regular crossings from Sorrento to Capri and Naples

I spent Easter Weekend on the Amalfi coast a few years ago. It was great. Everything was open. We had Easter Dinner in Ravello. The resturant made some special dishes beacuse it was Easter.
