We would like to hit a couple of cities in this area on our trip next year. Recommendations?
I know it's just semantics, but do be sure to read up on the area, which consists of villages--not cities so much, but you have Naples and Salerno if you want some city time as well.
What kinds of things do you like to do? The area is great for hiking, and of course you have Pompeii and other archaeological marvels nearby.
Where else are you going and how long do you have for the AC?
brettnkath, you're going to have to give us more to go on! Where and how many days are you staying in the region? What season (it matters)? What sort of things are you interested in doing/seeing? And who is "we" (ages, abilities, etc)?
Aside from that I'll recommend getting your hands on a couple of guidebooks to see what the coast has to offer and sounds interesting to you. Honestly, it may not make any sense to even go there if you don't have a good reason for choosing it in the first place? Italy is great and has lots of fascinating places to see, and the A.C. may or may not be the best for you depending on any number of factors.
Hi, check out positano.com or capri.com. Also, check out the travel reports, there could be some who have already been and posted their experiences. We are traveling to the AC this summer, and we just picked a home base (Praiano) and plan to do some day tripping from there.
