Amalfi coast by ferry

Hello, I will be staying in Salerno in August and would like to explore Amalfi and Positano by ferry. Will I need to buy ferry tickets to each place? I would also like to see Ravello, but I read that I will need to take a bus from Amalfi. Any advice?

Thanks!

I wanted to add a bit more- ideally, I'd like to take a ferry from Salerno to Positano, then work backward to Amalfi, Ravello, and Vietri Sul Mare. Is this doable?

When we stayed in Salerno we only took the ferry from village to village that had ferry service. We bought our tickets at the ticket office in the dock area. I don't remember if we bought single tickets or a multi stop ticket, but you could check www.travelmar.it for info. Positano and Amalfi are gorgeous from the water! Yes, to get to Ravello you need to take a local bus up from the bus stop in Amalfi. The SITA buses use this stop, so be sure to ask the driver if he goes to Ravello. Buy your ticket in a news stand across from the bus stop. If you have the Campania Artecard, your fare on this bus is covered. (At least it was in 2015 when we purchased this card in Naples at the train station.)

You'd be hard pressed to do it in one day.

From Salerno to Vietri sul Mare
Is a 15 min bus ride. There is no ferry dock in Vietri. Do this on a seperate
day. Maybe combine it with Maiori by ferry.

To visit Positano, Amalfi and Ravello
might be 1 too many. Check both the bus and ferry schedules to see if you can connect the three. Your best bet might be Ferry Salerno-Amalfi then first bus to Ravello. Return to Amalfi and ferry to Positano then bus back to Salerno.
