Those merely wanting to see Denzel beat up bad guys will not be disappointed by 'Equalizer 3'. It is corny, cliché and deeply satisfying.
But the added value comes with the setting: director Fuqua chose the oh-so visual Amalfi Coast. He posed Amalfi town combined with Atrani as a quasi-fictitious place 'Altomonte'. There actually exists a real Altomonte, but it is further inland.
We were just there back in March and recognized a number of exact locations, including a couple brief shots done in the town where we'd based: Minori. Must've been fun to have been the location scout for this flick, plus the recent James Bond in Matera!
