My friend and I will be in Rome May 29 for 2 days and then Tuscany for 7 days from June 1-7. We are planning to extend our trip and visit Amalfi Coast and Lake Como over an 18 day period. We need to depart from Rome on June 25th to return home. We are trying to figure out if this makes sense to go north and south. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Is this a 1st trip?
What is it you want to see/do?
Pick one, fresh water or salt water.
Those are two of my favorite places in Italy! Of course you can do it! The train from Milan to Naples is only 4 hours. From the end of your Tuscany leg, head north. When your finishes there, train south to Naples. I personally would rent a car at that point, but you could do public transport from that point. Either way, be sure to stay on the Amalfi Coast and don’t settle for Sorrento. It’s a great hub, but not the Amalfi Coast.
