We are finalizing plans for a trip in mid April. We are flying into Naples. spending 1st night in Sorrento and then onto Positano as a home base for the next 4 nights - hope to go to Capri, Amalfi. That leaves 3 nights before flying out of Rome. Trying to figure out, should we do 1 night Ravello and 2 in Rome? All three in Rome? or Roome with day trip to Orvieto? 2 nights in Ravello and then last night in Rome? We were in Rome last summer and stayed near Spanish Steps and did all of the main sites. Any other ideas for a hotel/area in Rome?

When I stayed in Positano, I took the local bus to Amalfi. The ride along the coast was wonderful!!! Got off the bus, walked across the road at the light and under the arch - directly into Amalfi. I was lucky enough to see a wedding party coming down the staircase of the big church - the brides veil was blowing behind her, it was a beautiful picture.
