Amalfi Coast

Hi,

My husband are looking for where to stay along the Amalfi Coast in Italy. We are going there June 6-8th (after visiting Rome and Pompeii). I am trying to figure out the best places to stay and how we would get there. I've heard good things about Amalfi, Positano, and Praiano. We are looking for a hub that is in a good location for us to see Amalfi, do the walk of the Gods hike, relax at some beaches, see the quaint beautiful coastal towns. Any suggestions? We would prefer to stay under $150 per night. We are traveling by train/bus everywhere so something within walking distance of a bus stop would be great.

Thank you!

I am a big fan of La Maurella in Praiano. There is a bus stop nearby. It's near the water, below the town.

Several great hotels in Positano. I loved wandering around this town and stayed for 3 nights. Took local bus to Amalfi and Ravello (a walk up the hill from Amalfi)
You can find a list of hotels and rates on Tripadvisor.com
and I would recommend contacting the hotel directly to reserve.

Punta Civita is technically Ravello, but half way down to Atrani. I believe it was €110 last time we were there. All rooms have at least a small, if not huge balcony and have a sea view. Check out the reviews on trip advisor. We have been there twice and love it!

I don't think there is a 'hub' to stay at, as such, for doing what you mention. its not like say sorrento, where you can catch ferries, train bus etc. from the same spot and radiate out.
the other towns along the coast are exactly that along the coast, so doing the walk of the gods etc, requires transport from one of the small towns up to the starting point ( in the 'hills') also seeing the coastal towns also requires transport along the coast from were ever you stay. in other words, its a logistical 'challenge' to see a range of things. which is why you will get numerous different responses, with peoples likes and dislikes for various towns. zoom in on google maps etc to see just how the towns are spaced apart.
I hope this helps?
