Amalfi Coast

We had the same question when we started our trip planning last fall. I chose Praiano because it was quieter and less touristy. You can access the path of the Gods right from the town, but it is all up hill. I don't know the exact number of stairs, but it is quite a bit. We chose Praiano for the quiet, but it is also very accessible to Positano by a smaller local bus that isn't the Sita bus. Smaller bus is called the Mobility Amalfi Coast. We also decided that if we wanted to start in Bomerano, it wasn't going to be crazy busy to catch the Sita bus early morning to Amalfi. From Praiano, take the bus toward Amalfi and then get off at Bivio Lone. At Bivio Lone, you can connect to the bus to Agerola. If you miss the Bivio Lone stop, then just stay on the bus another km into Amalfi and transfer to the Agerola bus there. We went in June and stayed in Praiano, intending to take the stairs.

Instead we used a car service to drop us off in Bomerano and pick us up in Nocelle at the end. I highly recommend it as it saved us so much time (and knees). It was 120E for three of us round-trip from Umberto Limos Positano.
