Amalfi Bus Tours

Does anyone have a company that they used to tour the Amalfi Coast for a day? We will be in Naples and would like to tour the Amalfi but would rather have a van/bus to cut down on expenses. Any suggestions?

We actually drove a rent car from Sorrento to Positano and Amalfi Town last month, and I would not advise driving yourself. I don't have a bus recommendation, but anything has to be better then driving yourself! Uh, yes, I read all the Rick book recommendations, but we were with our friends, and he was the driver and I was just the navigator/wingman :)

I have not read about any Tour Bus Company that offers such a trip. You can take the train to Sorrento and use the SITA bus to tour the coast. It's very cheap and you can get on/off wherever you like. It cost 6 Euros for a 24 hour ticket. In the summer months, the only problem is that the buses get very crowded. I'm not sure when you are going. If money were no object, you could hire a car/driver. My brother recently used Mr. Manetti Sr.(who is recommended by R. Steves) and they had a great, albeit expensive day).

From Naples to the amalfi coast is a little bit far. You may be able to get a bus tour or boat to take you there, but you may spend a lot of time in transit. If you base in Sorrento it's easier to visit amalfi by bus or boat, and you can hop on/off the big bus wherever it stops. Boat is a little more expensive, and you don't get to experience the crazy turns, but sometimes the bus can be crowded you may have to stand for a while.

Check with your hotel. They may be affiliated with a tour company that may actually pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. When I was in Rome, our B&B hooked us up with a company that took us to Naples and Pompei.
