I am traveling with a friend in and around Umbria in June. We will be driving to Orvieto to drop our rental car and spending a few hours before heading back to Milan via the train. I was thinking we could stop in Bologna for dinner and then return to Milan late (it's only an hour by train). Is that too much for a day? Am I crazy?

Just make sure you start dinner at about 7:30pm when most restaurants open.
The last train to Milan departs from Bologna at 10:38pm
