We had a flight booked into Venice and out of Pisa on Delta Airlines for this spring. We were spending our last nights in Cinque Terre. We will be traveling by train. Delta has since cancelled the return flight. We need to return to NYC preferably on a direct flight. I figure Milan or Rome but since we now have to travel farther probably the following day than what we had planned. Any advice?
Anyone have any ideas? Help!
It's not clear at least to me what you're asking. Did Delta cancel your flight without putting you on another one? Or are you asking which big airport is easiest to get to from the CT? If so, the answer is Milan.
I believe that Delta no longer flies their own direct flight from PSA to the US, but I am fairly certain that they still have codeshare flights originating in PSA to the US. they codeshare with Air France, KLM, British Air and a few others. the problem would be that those flights are with connections. Milan MXP would be closer to the CT.
Delta canceled my flight out of Pisa. They said they no longer run PISA-JFK direct. They didn't set up another flight. I then canceled it because they also changed the arrival time of my incoming flight so I wanted to change the entire trip. I can now book it a bit cheaper than what I paid. We will stay at a Starwood hotel our last night using points. I will be in Venice, Florence and Siena before Cinque Terre.
I am just trying to see if I have any other options. Which I think is just Rome. Is it worth visiting Rome for a half day? Not that I expect to see much (otherwise I would have put it into my original itinerary) but given Milan or Rome for a half day which is a Monday (can't see the Last Supper in Milan). What would you all do?
We decided to go to Rome for a day before we leave, 4 hour 15 minute by early train from Monterosso. We rebooked the flight and it was about $70 less then the Pisa flight I had. Thanks for your help.
