Would 2 days in Colmar and 2 days in Strasbourg be too much? When in Colmar we would definitely spend at least a day going to the wine villages. Could you do Equsheim and some of the others in one day? Or if went to Equisheim and Gueberschwihr by e-bike, would it be enough of the wine villages. Since we are spending 2 day in Strasbourg, would we still need an extra day in Colmar itself?
I guess I put this under the wrong country.

The bus from Colmar to Eguisheim takes just 10 minutes. A couple towns to visit are the walled medieval town of Riquewihr and the town of Ribeauville which is less than 3 miles away from Riquewihr. Ribeauville has an excellent Wine Co-operative in a single building where many of the local vintners offer wine-tasting and sell their wines at very reasonable prices. Most of the wineries in the Alsace-Lorraine Valley are not set up for on-site wine tasting as the Napa Valley is. Instead, there are the co-operatives to do this.
You can reach Riquewihr and Ribeauville on
buses from Colmar that take about 45 minutes. Buses in this rural area link the two towns in 15 minutes about every two hours. Walking through the public pathways between Riquewihr and Ribeauville— a beautiful walk that crosses through the vineyards—takes less than one hour.
We spent five nights in Strasbourg. During that time we did a day trip to Colmar and felt like that was enough.
We also joined a small group wine tour through Riquewihr and Ribeauville. We were the only ones on the tour, so it was more like a private tour. It was a great day and much easier than catching buses to the villages.
Check out the kutzig "hop on / hop off" shuttle bus that makes a continuous loop through 6 villages on the Alsace Wine Route. It leaves from the Colmar train station several times a day, and stops in each of the towns along the way every 1 1/2 hours. We found that to be a very easy way to visit 2 or 3 towns each of the 2 days that we used the kutzig shuttle.
