I have read that amalfi and vicinity close down for season mid October. Currently planning to be in that area at the beginning of October. Are there already things closing at beginning of October? Would this be a bad time to go? I was also thinking it may be a bit quieter than the summer travel season but from what I have seen on this blog people still experienced high volumes of people in may 2023 (the other shoulder season) so maybe I am wrong in thinking it won’t be shoulder to shoulder people.
Any advice is appreciated.

I think it would be a delightful time to be there. You will have a slightly higher chance of rain, but the temperatures should be perfect. I was surprised to see on Google that there are numerous internet mentions of Almafi, but Amalfi does way better.

Are the highest volumes of ppl in amalfi town and positano?
I’m still researching which town to book my hotel or Airbnb in.
