Has anyone been in the Puglia area on November 1 (All Saint's Day)? We will be in the Itria Valley area during this time and wondering if everything shuts down for the holiday or if there are any special festivities to be aware of. I haven't found much info online. Thanks!
I don't remember things being closed in Puglia on November 1st, but I do remember eating some traditional colva (or grano dei morti) on All Souls Day on November 2nd --- it's made with cooked wheat grains, raisins, chopped walnuts and almonds, dried figs, chocolate, pomegranate seeds, and vincotto.
Thanks Nancy. Sounds good! I will look for that. Now I realize that both Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 are holidays so I'm hoping that we will be able to experience some of the local festivities.
