Alitalia + travelling with a baby

We are flying from Rome to Brindisi on tickets that do not include any checked bags. But, as I understand it, Alitalia will allow us to check a stroller and a carseat for free. But how about the baby's travel cot? It is smaller and much lighter than a Pack'n'Play.

I'm asking for people's personal experience here because I think we may get a different official answers asking about it on the phone now or in the airport on the day. The plane appears to be almost empty, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

I would check with Alitalia for the definitive answer. We really can only guess at what the airline will allow.

Where did you come by this 'understanding'? Did it not address your other item?

I would call Alitalia, 800 223 5730 and ask them.

Unless you are flying in the next few days, that is quite likely to change.

Leaving day after tomorrow, plane still quite empty. Alitalia's website says carseat and stroller can be checked for free, but does not mention a travel cot. My 50+ years of phoning many businesses is that what someone tells you on the phone is discovered to be not the case when you actually go to the hardware store, or restaurant, or airport, or whatever. I was interested to know if anyone had any experience checking a cot. But it's all fine now --- my son decided to just pay for a checked bag and fill it with the baby stuff and other things. Thanks!
