Alitalia to Continue FCO/LAX Flights into Winter 2010/Spring 2011

According to the current Alitalia web schedules, the FCO/LAX nonstop flights will operate THREE times weekly on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from November 1, 2010 through May 31, 2011, increasing back to FIVE per week (daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays) beginning on June 1, 2011. That means seven full months with only three flights per week.

Beginning tomorrow, Alitalia will offer DAILY nonstop flights between FCO and LAX through the end of September, 2011. Flights will reduce to four per week in October, and further reduce to thee per week for winter 2011/2012. Since Alitalia originally commenced service to LAX in 1984, this is the first year that summer flights have increased to daily. Flights are operated with Boeing 777-243ER aircraft, which seat 42 in magnifica class and 249 in economy class. Airborne time to FCO is approx. 11.5 hours. Airborne time to LAX is approx. 12.5 hours.
