Alitalia flight Rome - Bari not allowed checked-in baggage?

We plan to fly from Rome's Fiumicino to Bari Airport with Alitalia on Sunday, 3rd of June 9.20am. However, there is no information of any allowed checked-in baggage and when I tried to book the seat, it seems the first 7 rows are only 1 seating each side.

It seems really odd though as Ryan Air permits the checked-in baggage though with extra fee.
Has anyone ever fly with Alitalia Rome - Bari before?

Cheers
Jen

It sounds like you've booked the Alitalia Economy Lite fare, which is carry on only.

Apparently I booked via Google Flights window (which I normally did in the past) and it does not show the option of the class flight. I went to its website and it shows me the full flight options phewww very expensive but what choice do i have from Rome to Bari direct.

By the way, how is Rome's Fiumicino custom queues in the morning? I would arrive from international flight at 6.50am. Plan to catch flight to Bari at 9.20am. I assume the walk to domestic terminal wouldn't take too long. I wonder if we could talk to the officer in duty of the queues to use express line or something as I normally see the officer would ask who have connecting flights and let them through first.

These are the Light Fare conditions:

ATTENTION, you have selected the Light fare, which does not include checked baggage; this can be bought at a cost of EUR 25 and EUR 45 based on the route and/or method of purchase.

Once you choose a fare, click on the little info symbol to compare classes. I flew a similar Light Fare from Catania to Naples. If you purchase the checked baggage feature when buying the ticket or when checking in on line prior to your flight, the charge is €25. If purchased at the airport, it's €45.

If you haven't purchased your tickets yet, choose Economy Classic which gives you carry-on, checked bag and reserved seat and it's only €24 more.

You better pray the lines are short for immigration and that your flight arrives on time.

Having to retrieve your luggage and check it in and go through security again, leaves you very little latitude for any hiccup in the process.
