alilauro ferry from Naples to Sorrento

My wife and I will visit Naples in late October for one day - our cruise ship spends the day in port. We have visited Naples and Pompeii before, so I thought it would be fun to depart the ship in the morning, take the hydrofoil across the Bay to Sorrento, do a walking tour of Sorrento and have lunch, then take the Circumvesuviana to Herculaneum for 1-2 hours before completing the train ride back to Naples. Different websites are giving me contradictory info on whether the hydrofoil operates in October ... does anyone know for certain if the answer is yes or no? Thanks.

The Naples - Sorrento ferries run, sea conditions permitting, year round.

Sorrento has just introduced audio guides to the town and they are available from the Tourist Info offices. Have not tried them yet so cannot say how good they are. Otherwise here is a local Tourist Guide

Yes, there are quick ferries and hydrofoils running everyday to connect Naples and Sorrento. Boats will run in October. See schedules at www.snav.it and www.navlib.it.

Have an alternate plan in case the ferries/hydrofoils are not running due to weather.
