So I am staying in early July almost right between the Ca da Ora stop and the Fondemente Nova stop. Our flight departing flight from Marco Polo is at 11am. Would it be better to take the Aliguana from Fondemente Nova to the airport or take the vaporetto from Ca Da Ora and take a bus to the airport?

The vaporetto from Ca' d'Ora and the bus to the airport will be the least expensive and is really easy to do. The Alilaguna from Fondamenta Nuove will cost more but might be more convenient.

We've used the Alilaguna before and plan to do so again in a few weeks. It saves a transfer plus we like traveling over the water.

More spell check. Venetians speak a dialect which includes a lot of apostrophes.
Both the museum and the vaporetto stop name have a couple. It is Ca' d'Oro.
Literally - house of gold because the front of the palazzo (Venetians don't use that word, they use Ca' ) used to be all gold mosaic.
I don't like how slow the Alilaguna boat is, nor how hard it is to see through the tiny salt-encrusted windows. I'd rather be up higher so I could look around when going across the lagoon, but you can't do that. Also, on arrival at the airport it is a long 15 minute outside walk from the dock to the airport terminal.
By taking the vaporetto to the bus at P Roma you say goodbye to Venice sooner but you get right to the door of the terminal, frequent and cheap.
I've done the Alilaguna and am unlikely to repeat it. Everybody is different though....

I really disliked the Alilaguna. It's so slow AND you're stuck in the belly with tiny windows...can get got too. If you can afford a water taxi that would be the most convenient and "fun" way to leave Venice. Even walking the 15 or so minutes from the dock to the airport is ok with me if I get to ride in a water taxi.
