Albert Hotel in Milan

Has anyone stayed at the Albert Hotel in Milan? The pics look nice, but they are so much cheaper than anyplace else I have found. It's very near the central train station, I just hope it's not on the wrong side of the tracks! We are getting into Milan very late, and I would rather not be in a seedy area! Thanks,
Cynthia

Have you tried Google Maps to take a look around that neighborhood for yourself to see what you think? That never occurs to a lot of people.

Thanks to you both! You are right Michael, I didn't think of using Google earth. I love it! I was having a great time until I realized that about 1/2 block down there is a "sexy shop" and a "erotika shop" Great.... you gotta love the big cities! As they say, you get what you pay for. (sorry for the pun) I am glad I have a lot of time to find something......
Most of the reviews are pretty good, so maybe I should just avoid walking that direction! Thanks again!

Yeah, if it were any closer to the train station it would be on one of the tracks. :-) My personal preference would be to find something at least a couple of blocks away, but you gotta love those prices. While in Milan be sure to check out Via Dante, between the Duomo and the Castello Sforzesco. Great people watching area.

Cynthia, we liked the Berna Hotel which is close to the central train station if you walk directly towards it. I was concerned about 'seediness' but less there than in Munich - could be my expectations. We walked to dinner one night- took a wrong turn- and wandered for an hour ( "I thought YOU had the map"). Scariest thing were a couple of teenagers- no 'ladies' at all on the streets, tho there was a purple painted storefront nearby, there was also a McDonalds and sidewalk restaurants.
