Has anyone stayed in one of the double rooms with a lateral balcony in the main hotel? What was your experience like? Was the view decent and worth 140 euros? I have a nonsecured reservation that expires tomorrow and am trying to decide whether to secure the reservation.
Yes and it was very pleasant to sit on the little
balcony with a glass of wine and look down on the
lake.
Mimi, how was the size of the room?
HI Susan. We stayed there last September & had a room with a balcondy directly on the lakefront. The room was more than adequate & felt open & airy. It wasn't huge but it wasn't as small as other hotel rooms we stayed in, in Italy. The room was very clean & comfortable & we loved opening the balcony doors & enjoying the lake view early in the morning and in the late afternoon when we returned from sightseeing before dinner. While the room cost a bit more for the lakefront view/balcony, it was the best splurge of our trip. The rate includes a decent breakfast every morning and we had to check out very early on our last morning (in order to catch our flight at Malpensa) & the owners left a little table set for us with breakfast so that we could eat before leaving & then we let ourselves out. We thought this was very nice of them. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Enjoy your trip.
I can get a double with a/c and a front lake view balcony at Hotel Olivedo or Villa Toretta for the same price as the lateral balcony view at Albergo Milano. I'd appreciate any input as to which one I should reserve.
As Sheron said, the room wasn't huge but airy and
with the balcony window door it didn't seem small.
Nice bathroom.
I was nervous about the Hotel Olivedo because of the moodiness of manager. Would like an opinion of anyone who stayed there, at Villa Cipressi or Eremo Gaudio please.
Don't know about the other hotels you mentioned but our double room with a lateral view of lake was extremely small. The view was nice enough. Just thought the room and bathroom were tiny. Didn't like the dinner we had at the hotel either. Nothing special. Try the restaurant called Quattro Pass' just a few steps from the hotel. Great dinner there.
