Albergo Milano

I am trying to book a room at Albergo Milano in Varenna for September 2015. I filled out the information but have not heard back from them about rates and avaiilability. Any suggestions?

ellie,

At this time of the year, they may be closed for the season and therefore not checking E-mails on a daily basis. I'd suggest being patient, as I'm sure they will answer eventually. Sept. 2015 is a long way in the future, so they may not have a sense of urgency in answering quickly.

We stayed at Albergo Milano about a month ago, & the owner, Bettina, said that they close down for the winter starting 11/9/14 till Mid- March.

So, since this is a family owned hotel, & their staff is off now, they will take longer to answer your request.

Thank you for your responses. We did get a confirmation e-mail from Albergo Milano and have booked a room with them.

Ellie,

It's great that you've now heard from Albergo Milano. At this time of year, many of the tourist places shut down (or at least slow down) for the season, so it sometimes takes awhile to get a response.

Hope you have a great time in Varenna!

Ellie,

Good to hear! You will enjoy your stay at Albergo Milano.

We did not eat dinner at the hotel but I heard other guests saying that it was a delicious meal!

Where else is your trip taking you?

We are also going to Monterosso (Cinque Terre) then heading down to Rome for a cruise around the Mediterranean.

Sounds like great fun!

We stayed in Monterosso a few years ago & visited the other C.T. villages by train, since they are so close.

Make sure to go on 'Via dell'Amore', it's a magnificent pathway between Riomaggiore & Manarola.

Check this website to check condition of trails in C.T. prior to your trip:

Have a wonderful trip!!!

We were just in the c.t. for 4 nights in October and unfortunately the via dell amore between riomaggiore and manarola was still closed. Don't know when it will reopen. This was our 4th visit to the c.t. and first time back since the tragic flood in Oct 2011. We were happy to see that things are back to normal. Have a great trip.
