Alba to Neive and Barbaresco

We'll be in Alba in early October. I've been doing some research and have read that there is an hourly Alba-Asti bus (45F) that makes a stop a short walk outside of Neive. If anyone has made this trip I'd be interested to know about your experience. We have almost no experience with buses. I've been to the Bus Company web site but can't really make sense of the schedule.

I've also read that it's a fairly easy 5km walk from Neive to Barbaresco. If you have made this trek I'd love to hear about it.

Regarding the walk, I remember driving that stretch as I stopped to photograph. It's quite beautiful with open hillsides of vineyards and fields. The hills were not noticeably steep so I'd imagine the walk would be quite enjoyable. Google maps gives a walk time of an hour. Neive is pretty with some panoramic views, but small. I remember only one restaurant, one cafe, and maybe two little stores.

This website describes a ring trail of 13 km Neive-Barbaresco-Neive. http://www.langheroero.it/itinerari-outdoor/neive-sentiero-del-barbaresco Sounds like fun. The Neive comune site also leads to a reference of this 13 km route for mountain bikes (often just written MTB)
