I will depart from Peretola airport in Florence very early in the morning, before the bus service begins. Can anyone recommend a taxi service/best way to get to the airport at about 4 a.m.? I am a woman traveling alone. Thanks for your help!

You should verify the opening time for check-in, because at 4:00 a.m., the acceptance desks will be closed!!! There is no reason to arrive any sooner than 5:30 a.m.!

Ann, I took a taxi, arranged by my hotel host, leaving the heart of Florence at 5 a.m. The ride was quick but you will be charged the "night rate" which I believe was about 30 E

Thanks, didn't know about the airport opening time, will certainly check on that. Figured I need a taxi, but trying to figure who to use. Saw a transportation service online, but at 43 Euros it seemed a bit pricey (and apparently is!) I'm not staying at a hotel, so can't get any help that way, but I'll check around for a good taxi service.

Have your hotel arrange a taxi for you. It should be about 20 Euro.
