Airport transfers private taxi in Florence and Rome

We'd like to book a reliable car service to take us from the airport to our accommodations. Can anyone suggest a reliable reasonably priced service? Thanks.

Why do you need to go from the airport to the hotel in both cities? Are you flying from Dlorence to Rome instead of taking the train?

In any case, take a regular taxi at the taxi stand at the airport.

Florence FLR airport.
As you exit the new terminal turn to the right. Walk along the old terminal then at the end turn the corner to the right. There will be plenty of white taxicabs. There might be numerous passengers lined up to board the taxicabs, but the queue goes really fast.
Below is an image of what you will see before turning the corner.

There is a flat fare from the Florence airport to anywhere in the historical city center. I think in 2024 the flat fare is now 28€ (30€ on Sundays and holidays and 32€ at night between 10pm and 6am). There is also a surcharge of 1€ per bag up to a maximum of 7€ (the surcharge applies even if you keep the bag with you instead of the trunk. Personal items, like a purse, doesn’t count). The ride is 15/20 min (4 miles)

Do the same in Rome. The taxi stand is in front of each terminal (see image below). The flat fare from Rome airport to the city center is now 55€ (Rome airport is farther from the city center than the Florence airport). The flat rate is comprehensive of all supplements.

Especially in Rome, taxi drivers like to be paid cash, even though the law requires them to accept digital payments, since they are the most pernicious tax dodgers. So if you don’t have cash with you, let them know right away before boarding that you only have credit/debit card.

DO NOT LEAVE A TIP TO TAXI DRIVERS, or you will have to face scorn by the entire Italian citizenry. (Taxi drivers are hated by Italians more than lawyers in America).

In Rome, we've used Rome Cabs (a private car service despite the name) several times and have always been pleased. We send an email setting forth our needs and get a reply is less than 24 hours. Google them and see if they offier what you need. With regard to price, they do cost a bit more than a regular taxi, but there is a fixed rate in Rome to and from the airport if you use a regular taxi from the official taxi rank at the airport.

www.Romecabs.com is a limo service (in spite the name taxi in it).

They charge the following rates:
100€ for 1-2 pax
120€ for 3-4 pax
130€ for 5 pax
and so on, all the way to 160€ for 8 pax.

Taxicabs are 55€ and they can accommodate up to 4 pax.

I'm sure Stefano (that is the name of the Romecabs owner) offers more upscale service, probably on a fancier car/van, than a regular taxi.

The choice is yours.
