Airport transfer to hotel

We will be arriving in Rome by air from Belgium and I am wondering how to go to our hotel Cristoforo Colombo Rome Italy the Eur district. Is there a train that you can take from the airport? And if so does it connect to the metro, in which case we can take to the hotel. Not sure if hotel is close to the metro. Or is it better to take taxi? Or should we rely with airport shuttle if available? I just don't want to be entering my trip by being swindled right as I arrive for my tour.

To begin with it would help to know which Rome airport you'll be arriving at? If you'll be arriving at FCO, the method I often use is to take the Leonardo Express (train) to Roma Termini station and then a Taxi from there to whatever hotel I'm using. Did your tour not provide suggestions on getting from the airport?

Another option would be to use Rome Cabs directly from the airport to your hotel, as they have a flat rate fare of about €48. Your hotel appears to be on the outskirts of the city, and I'd have to do a bit of further checking to figure out the best solution.

This hotel is about 2/3 of the way between the airport and the center of Rome, and the closest train station is still pretty far from the hotel. If they have a shuttle, use it. Otherwise, a taxi will be your best option. The hotel is in the 'burbs' next to a shopping mall. You can get a bus close by to get you to the Metro stop EUR Fermi for Metro trains into Rome.

The hotel's website does not mention a shuttle, but it suggests taking the local train to Rome Ostiense station then taking the Metro to EUR Fermi, then the bus. I'd just take a taxi, and make sure the rate is less than the 45 EUR fixed price of a taxi into Rome. Use official metered cabs from the official taxi line.

Note that the fixed fare only applies from Fiumicino airport to a zone in the center of Rome. Your hotel is outside this zone, so it will be on the meter. Sam was just saying that since your hotel is closer to the airport than the central zone is, it should cost you less than the €48 fixed fare to the central zone.

Note also that there are legal extra fees, such as for putting bags in the trunk; these will be posted in the cab.
