OK, planning the fine details now. Shuttle costs 35 euros inclusive, for 3 people. I assume that is it, out the door for us, not for each person. Seems very reasonable as opposed to 3 people taking train then metro to hotel or 3 people getting cab into city? Am I correct in assuming this? This is often the most stressful part of trip for me. Arriving and not knowing airport, etc. Appreciate all input prior to booking shuttle or planning otherwise.
Your assumption is correct: for 3 people, 35 Euros (plus gratuity) is only nominally more expensive than taking the train. It's 11 Euros per person for a train to Termini, then the cost of bus, metro or taxi to your hotel (unless it's walking distance from Termini).
A taxi from the airport to Rome is mandated, by law, to be 40 Euros, again, plus gratuity.
A taxi ride is fairly straight forward, although it may cost you around 50-60 Euros. It is very convenient and minimizes the stress, but of course you pay. The train is easy as well, and then you can take a taxi to your hotel is you don't want to take the metro. NOt sure what the Leonardo Express (which is the train to the central station goes for per passenger). Good luck and have a fabulous trip!
