Airport hotel in Rome

Does anyone have any recommendations for someplace to stay overnight near the Rome airport (Fiumicino)to be closer for a morning flight. We'll be taking the train from the Amalfi Coast as late as possible the day before our flight leaves, so really only looking for a bed for the night.

Sharon, Try the Rome Airport Hilton. It probably won't be cheap but it's about the most convenient as you can walk right into the Terminals. You could also check the www.roninrome.com website as I believe there are some good suggestions there. Cheers!

We just stayed at Hotel Tiber. Newer hotel, very clean, friendly staff, 5-10 min drive to the airport. We would stay there again.

Sharon, the Park Isola Sacre hotel is just a few minutes from the airport and the shuttle costs €6 per person. It is a modern hotel, swimming pool, garden, all amenities, less expensive than hotels actually at the airport. One of Ron-in-Rome's recommendations.

Early in the morn the taxi ride from downtown is less than 30 min. If you stay at the Isola Sacra you still need at least 10 min of surface street driving. For 15-20 min of extra sleep you are giving up the last evening in beautiful Rome.

I stayed at a Best Western. It was one block from the beach and a short shuttle to the airport.

I asked the same question a few months back and we ended up staying in a hotel a few blocks from Termini. It was easy to get up and catch the Leonardo Express at 6:35AM..we were at the airport at @7AM. Walk is easy from the train station to the bus to T5 for check in. unless you are "done" with Italy, and have already spent time in Rome...I'd recommend staying by the train station and enjoy a last evening in the city. Since you are taking the train from the Amalfi Coast, you will already be at the train station.

Thanks for all the suggestions, and especially for the Ron in Rome link. This is the last piece to put in place for our trip this fall, so I have time to check them all out...
