My daughter and I need to book a hotel in Naples before our flight at 9:30 on a Friday morning in January. We'll drop our rental car at the Naples airport on Thursday evening, get to a hotel to spend the night, and get back to the airport Friday morning for our flight. I'm going cross-eyed trying to find a hotel. What's right around the airport looks fairly seedy, but I wonder if staying by the port places unnecessary stresses (timing problems plus lots of taxi fares) on our morning flight. I'd appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.
The NAP airport is only 10-15 minutes from the city center. Find something near via Chiaia west of Piazza Plebiscito and it will be fine. The flat taxi fares range from 18€ to 25€ depending on the district where you depart from. Chiaia and Mergellina are 25€.
Your flight is probably an intra Europe flight, since NAP doesn't have intercontinental flights. Therefore all you need is to be at the airport about 75 min prior to departure..
I always stay at Una Hotel Napoli and walk 100 yards to bus stop for transit to airport
Thanks for the insights. I'm currently considering staying at BenBo, the capsule "hotel" inside the airport. Does anyone have experience doing this?
The capsule hotel looks like something you'd find in Tokyo...cool concept but tight. I have to ask...why would you want to stay at the airport instead of enjoying the last evening in town? I would much prefer to stay in the center myself, and Naples is not expensive relative to other cities in Italy. The airport is so close to the center, there's no need to stress over getting there in the AM.
