Taking a 7 am flight from Florence to Paris then back to US. How early would we need to leave for airport if staying downtown Florence? Trying to figure how much time to allow? May need to pull allnighter on last night of tour in Florence!

Smallest airport you can think of. There are only 6 flights departing from FLR between 6 and 9:30am all in small regional jet (yours will be aboard a 100 seater A318).
The check-in hall (built in 2013) has 40 positions. It will take you 10 minutes to check in and another 5 to walk to the gate.
You can comfortably get there 1 hr prior to departure and have time to spare.
The airport is only 3.5 miles from the city center. The taxi ride at that time in the morning is approx 10 to 15 min depending on where exactly you are staying. For a flight at 7am I would generally have the taxi pick me up at 5:15am, but from my parents' on the other side of town.
