I have been watching the ticket prices and since last week, it dropped from $1257 to this week $1025. I have never seen it go this low to Europe. Is it too early to buy now, do you think they might drop lower?
My trip is for May.
Thx
There is no way of knowing. It could, just as easily, go back up. If you are comfortable with waiting then you should but I would probably just buy them and be done with it. May is not that far away.

To me that's a pretty good price, especially in may. Predicting airline ticket prices is like predicting the exchange rate or stock market. Make an intelligent guess and go for it. When you find a price you are comfortable with, buy and don't look back!
What flight cities are you talking about?
Miami to Prague, Pisa to Miami
Not sure what dates you are looking at, the only way I could get a price like that on ITA Matrix was by using Tuesday-Tuesday May 5-19 (one week trips were higher).
I see Delta (and associated) flights for $1019, and that certainly seems like a winner. It's certainly a lot less than what has been charged for the Phila-London/AMS-Phila trip we are taking in April, which other than a couple ofdays in August when we lucked into a temporary drop and we were able to grab it for $820, has consistently stayed over $1200 since then.
If this were us we would grab it. Staying on the same airline should make CDG in 2 hours 5 minutes acceptable, and if you are nervous about that I see they have a choice with a longer layover.
Thanks so much. I dread CDG, but I only have to go one terminal over!
I did buy them yesterday, for $1025. Today they are up to $1260. Lucky me!
Just what I found last summer with the flight I needed, down from $1200 to $820 for 36 hours, then back up, two weeks later the same, and it's never been below $1200 again. That was not on a Tuesday, and was almost 8 months out. Interestingly, this was Lufthansa, so options with United and /or Air Canada in the mix were similar, as was BA and its partners. but only for those couple of days.
it's really a shame that you have to have blind luck now in order to get a good price.
What airline? I did see a email that United had a 3 day 15% off flights to most Europe cities earlier this week for flights traveling thru June 2015.
For those persons near the Canadian Border, consider flying out of Canada. We were looking for tickets to Rome and Return from Venice. Best prices we found from Detroit were over $1,400. Flying out of Windsor, Ontario (Actually closer to me than the Detroit airport) was only $784. Going the Wednesday before Easter. ($2,400 buys a lot of Gelato).
If we drove to Toronto (4 hours) we could have gotten a direct to Rome for about $900.
We got the idea from father-in-law who lives in Vermont. HE got tickets for $650 out of Montreal.
Wow - I just looked at a couple samples I've followed with this now starting in Montreal rather than Philadelphia, and it is substantially cheaper than flying from Philadelphia. Even more so with a return to PHL rather than Montreal. It's a shame that we are far enough away that the savings would be eaten up by the cost of getting there. I envy those of you close enough that this is an easy option to choose.
We live in LA and will be flying from Lax to JFK separately and spending 2 days in NY before are trip to Italy
We did book are tickets directly from Alitalia
JFK to Milan for 2 people $1300
I separated my tickets and found a better deal.
