Airline question for travel to Milan return Rome

Flying from the west coast of Canada this fall. I have seen a flight bookable on Finnair with all flight segments are on BA. Using Finnair site over the BA site gives us a $300 savings. Any concerns doing such a booking? All layovers are a bit over 2 hours. Thanks

Nope, no concerns if its all thru Finnair website.
They are OneWorld partners with BA, and this sometimes happens that there is a variation in pricing.
Just like Monopoly "Bank Error In Your Favour".
Go for it !!

Just remember you are a Finnair customer, and any questions or changes will be thru Finnair.
Look to see that all flights have a Finnair flight number as well.

You've discovered one of the secrets of airline pricing. Sometimes for inexplicable reasons, the same flights can vary widely in cost depending on which flight number they're booked under. (This used to be common for Alitalia/Continental codeshare flights from Newark to Italy; booking it as Alitalia was several hundred dollars cheaper than booking it as Continental, for the exact same plane ). As long as you're booking with an airline itself and not a third party like Orbitz, it's fine.

One of the POSSIBLE reasons for the much lower fare may be that Finnair purchased a block of the least desirable seats (middle seats, next to lavatories, etc.) to market under their code-fare. This is a common practice and it is what you usually find on the consolidator (Orbitz, Expedia, etc.) sites as well.

One other thing to remember, unless you are a top-tier BA frequent flyer, you will not be able to pick your own seats until 24 hours prior to departure without paying some pretty stiff ($100 or more) fees.

So, it pays to remember - you get what you pay for. If you don't mind where you sit in a pressurized sardine can for 10-14 hours, pick the cheapest fare. If you want a little control over the misery inflicted on you, it usually costs a little more.
