Travelers to Europe this fall may want to start watching air fares now. While it is not the cheapest flight to Italy available, our preferred flight has dropped almost 25% from last year. Via Lufthansa, Boston to Nice RT is $761, mid Oct. to mid Nov. Last year I paid $984.

Two days later, the same fare has risen to $1,060. The lesson seems to be set an email price alert.
