Airfare at the end of Oct - from Boston to Venice

Hi all,

I've been looking at airfares for a trip to northern Italy the last week of October, and the best fare I found is $686 (we have to fly on Delta). What have your experiences been? Is this a good fare or will I do better if I wait?

Thanks,
Sonia

Sonia - Not sure if you guys have been in Venice before BUT it has so much to offer - Your Hotel will have FREE water taxi coupons or Vaporetto tickets to go to Murano and watch the glass-blowing - Amazing - and then on to Burano to see the beautiful Island and all it's shops and cafes. In Venice , of course The Rialto Bridge area with it's markets and shops and cafes. Piazza San Marco with The dueling Bands at night from the principal cafes - FUN
When you leave Venice my next stop would be in Verona and Lake Garda Area - A Lot to see and do - train out of Venice to Verona is easy!!
From Milano you can certainly see Como or Bergamo - It's all good Sonia and I know you'll have a wonderful time.
If you don't already have a Venice Hotel I would suggest The Hotel Casanova - right behind San Marco - Great location and the guys will take excellent care of you - Stefano and Dario are friends of mine and they always treat the customers well!!

I know it will be hard for you to leave Manchester BUT you can do it - I know it - lol

Thanks, Becca! Does anyone else have experience with this, since I'm hoping to buy the tickets today?

Hi Sonia - I've used a consolidator for years - Airfareplanet.com - there prices for October are roughly $400 on Delta but you can check out the site or give George, the owner a call and work out a one way or a multi-city - He will beat all others
Grew up in New Hampshire and spent a lot of time cruising down Elm Street!!!

Have a GREAT trip and please let me know if I can be of any help - Traveled in Italy for many years but then I'm Italian so why not. In norhtern Italy you must see La Cinque Terre, Florence, perhapsa Santa Margherita, and a bit of Tuscany

Ciao, Greg

Thanks, Greg for the tip! Elm Street has made quite a comeback in the last few years to revitalize our downtown - but the kids still cruise I'm sure :)

We've been to Florence and Tuscany before and it was wonderful - this trip we're planning on Venice, a couple of lakes, and fly out of Milan. I'd love to see Cinque Terre but don't think we'll make it that far this time. Are there must-sees between Venice and Milan that you recommend?

Ryanair is offering super cheap flights in October so I'm also considering an overnight side trip to Vienna.

Greg, I will take a look at the Hotel Casanova, and add your recommendations to our list.

Today was a perfect blue-sky summer day in NH, 80 degrees and a little breeze... it will be hard to leave foliage season for Italy but I suspect we'll find it worth the trip :)

Best,
Sonia
