AirBNB Rome City Center

HI everyone...first trip to Europe next April (2019). Just booked our cruise yesterday. Most excited. So far this forum has been quite helpful. We are Planning 4 days pre-cruise in Rome with our parents. While they are all able bodied 70+ year olds, we are looking for a nice 3 bedroom AirBnB in the city center for our stay. We are hoping to find a nice spot close to some hustle and bustle so we can relax in the evenings and enjoy the sites and sounds after what will for sure be long days of walking. Also looking to be close to transportation...anyone with a recent stay similar to what I am seeking who can comment. TIA.

I do not have a recent stay to reference, but I recommend not restricting yourselves to AirbNb. Try also www.VRBO.com and www.Booking.com. I prefer these last two sites for all of our travel. HolidayLettings through TripAdvisor has also had some tempting properties though we are using them for the first time later this year.

As to Rome, look for properties in Prati (near the Vatican) or near Piazza Navona/The Pantheon. Both locations are good for walking and transport. Remember that taxis are reasonable in Rome. We often used them to go home after dinner when we lived there.

Laurel thank you for the quick reply and the tips on other booking companies. We have used VRBO in the past, but I found AirBnB easier to navigate. I will definitely give them another shot and have a looking at booking.com as well. Thank you :)

hey tslaunwhite
how exciting about your cruise, we did a greek island cruise from venice and transatlantic cruise from rome. like Laurel has said don't just look at airbnb. i've used booking quite a bit and very pleased with them, but not in rome. i've also used cross-pollinate.com. put in filters (elevator/lift, washer, A/C, beds/baths-if double or twins, ask to change to double, area, balcony/terrace etc) some ask deposit and have cancellation available some don't, some may want cash euros on arrival, security credit card hold for damage) correspond with them. read the fine print. especially the hold and no storing of luggage before or after. I always check what times my flights arrive and depart so there is not an issue. been there done that in london and we were not happy campers, waiting 5 to 6 hours for apartment to be available. you learn really fast thru mistakes. come back and lets us know how you did or are doing.
