Airbnb in Sicily

Is there actually a Sicily Forum, I will look for it.
This will be first trip to Sicily (for Sept 2017)......Has anyone ever had a problem with Airbnb in Sicily, just wondering. I have used them successfully in the US. My son and his gf traveled to several countries in Europe last year, they used Airbnb through out.....no problems at all. Everything was as it was advertised to be.
I am expecting the same for Sicily.....a place I have wanted to travel to since childhood.

There is nothing different about Airbnb in Sicily from anywhere else. The thing to understand about them is that they are just a listing service - any individual listing can be good or bad, can be suitable for you or not, can have a nice owner or a surly owner, can have a hands-on owner or an absentee owner, etc.

We had a great Airbnb place in Ortygia (the old central part of Siracusa). Here's my review: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy-reviews/siracusa-airbnb-in-ortigia. But this doesn't tell anything about any other Sicily Airbnb.
