Interesting that west coast routes were opened, planes most likely filled then bankrupt? Sounds fishy to me. I disputed my charge with them with my CC company, tried to call them, (no answer), emailed them and rebooked on Lufthansa.
That is awful! I have booked a trip for June thru Delta operated by Alitalia. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Don’t worry. Alitalia will never go bankrupt. For political reasons.
It is a job program for the unemployed, basically corporate welfare at its best.
For as long as I can remember, Alitalia is either in bankruptcy, or about to go into bankruptcy. But, they keep flying and we have generally been satisfied with the service.
LOL. Alitalia does manage to stay in the air against all odds, doesn't it? We live in a Delta hub so have flown Alitalia a handful of times and always got where we needed to go. Sure, they ran out of wine once when we'd only been in the air a couple of hours - on a transatlantic overnight flight - but everyone made the best of it. 😬
