Air Italy

Has anyone had experience with Air Italy? It is a lower cost carrier and so far the only one flying directly from Miami, Fl. to Milan, italy.
I could not find any other direct flights. I have to get to Lucca actually and wanted to not have to make any changes before reaching Italy. I have tried rome2rio so don't suggest that site.

I have no experience with them but I have found the Points Guy to give a pretty good review of airlines. You may want to read this article to get a sense of the service: https://thepointsguy.com/reviews/air-italy-a330-new-york-to-milan/ I looked into nonstops to Milan from the US for a business trip and the only ones I found were from New York City and the Air Italy flight from Miami. I went with flying to NYC for a couple of days before taking a nonstop from there.

American Airlines has some non-stop flights from Miami to Milan. I flew them last October. Just checked the AA website and found a non-stop on March 3, 2020. They may not have a non-stop every day. May be worth a look. Not sure when you need to travel...

We are flying nonstop from Miami to Milan in May on American.

I have a friend who flew on Air Italy last summer from Miami and thought it was fine.

We choose American because it was cheaper when I bought my tickets.

I’ve flown Air Italy a few times under the old name, which was Meridiana Airlines, a company founded in Sardinia by His Highness Prince Aga Khan in the early 1960s under the name of Alisarda.

Later the company rebranded itself as Meridiana. After a period of financial trouble, in 2018 Qatar Airways became co-owner of the airline with 49% stake (51% is still owned by Alisarda to respect EU Airlines’s ownership rules) and the company is now called Air Italy. Starting this year, under the new ownership, the airline has added numerous intercontinental destinations and intends to soon replace Alitalia as the largest Italian airline. Although my experience with them precedes the current state, however I had no complaints then and I can only imagine that with the many petrodollars the Arabs are injecting, things are probably even better now. It’s not a low cost airline, prices are low now because they are trying to conquer some new markets and make a name for themselves, so take advantage of the deals, because they won’t last forever.

On November 12, I booked a round trip Miami-Milan direct flight on American Airlines for spring 2020 travel at a very low fare. Prices at that time were under $500 for basic economy, a little over $500 for economy and about $1,000 for premium economy. I'm not sure if those low prices are still available, but you might check.
