I seem be bouncing all over the place. While trying to nail accomodations I also need to figure out transportation.....
I see that Ryan Air flies out of FMC (Rome) airport. I need to know the best way to get from the airport in Palacea Mecchie (near Bari) to Adelfia.So far it seems a bit convoluted. For the extra money it will be worth it to avoid 2 9-hour train rides. We probably will need just 3/4 day in Adelfia but it looks like we will need to stay 2 nights.
Suggestions for a more convenient and time-saving trip? Taxi to Adelfia???

If you are already in Rome, before going to Adelfia, the train is probably just as fast as the airplane once you consider the time necessary from/to airports and the check in+security procedures at airport.
The Frecciargento high speed trains take 4 hours from Roma Termini to Bari Centrale. Then at Bari C. you would switch to the local commuter train operated by the Ferrovie del Sud Est company. It's a 25 min train ride from Bari C. to Adelfia.
Unless of course you plan to rent a car for your stay in Adelfia.
From the airport Bari-Palese, if you take a taxi (or rental car) to Adelfia it's a 30 min drive.
