Air Fare Question

Looking to book flights from JFK to Milan.

All within a few dollars of each other. Really wanted Emirates but the outgoing flight is 10:20pm which would get us into Milan at noon and the flight home departs late at 3:40 pm so that's out.

Other Choices are Alitalia departing 8:45 pm and British Airways and Finnair departing 6:05 pm.

Can anyone give any guidance on which airline is better? Thanks in advance.

What are your constraints? I dont understand why Emirates doesnt work for you?

We flew those exact same flights from JFK to Milan on Emirates last September and had a wonderful experience. I know Emirates often has great specials roundtrip from Milan from JFk ($499 roundtrip/person), so its pretty hard to beat that. We also found the food, drinks, service and entertainment to be fantastic on Emirtes.

Id vote for Emirates if you can make it work

Emirates is definitely way above the rest. Alitalia would come last, and British/Finn Air in the middle.

On this trip, we only have 8 days on the ground so hesitant to lose half the first day. Also, coming home on the Sunday and having school/work the next day, wasn't too keen on landing at 7pm and having the drive from JFK to No. Everyone has rave reviews on Enirates so wonder if it's worth it to sacrifice a half day in Italy.

On our last trip, we flew American from JFK to MXP and didn't have any complaints.

We literally just decided last night to go fur Thanksgiving so I don't even have my itinerary set yet.

Don't know if you live in NJ (@NJMOM), but we flew direct to Milan from Newark a few years ago on United.

We do live in NJ. Dates are 11/17 to 11:26. Going to check out United. Out of Newark is much much more convenient.

Go back and look at the JFK flight price/ s again---they may have jumped. My sister just emailed that the flights they wanted to book on Lufthansa have jumped twice in the past 24 hours. They missed the great price. : (

Got an email this morning for British Air sale. Plugged in your Nov Dates and saw 295 and 309 each leg. Newark was a bit more than JFK but not rediculously more.

TTMom12...I just checked the site and can't find a non stop back to Newark. Was it round trip with Newark? Non stop?

Just checked on Kayak for 11/17-11/26. EWR-->MXP price for round trip/economy is $602 on Lufthansa; 1 stop each coming and going.

We are booked our June 2017 flight using Delta. Orlando to JFK then JFK to Rome (Alitalia). It was significantly cheaper and as soon as we land we are hopping a train to Milan to begin our 3-week itinerary. Flights from Orlando to Milan via JFK were over a grand more each ticket. The flight arrives in Rome at 6:45 am and the train ride is a couple of hours. We went with this plan to stretch our budget.

I would avoid Alitalia. I just read last week that they're having financial problems (& 49% of Alitalia is now owned by Etihad). If they're having financial problems, they're more likely to cut corners. Just my two cents.

If you do a review would love to hear how you liked it. I booked Air New Zealand to London for Sept when they announced some great deals to try them out. Would like to try Emirates too.

It must be too early to book a Emirates flight for September. Nothing available yet.
