Hi, I was wondering how necessary it is to get a room with air conditioning in the Cinque Terre. It looks as though July average high temperature is around 83 deg F, so a fan should be sufficient. Am I correct with this assumption? Thanks for your help.

Our family spent 3 nights in Vernazza on our last trip to the Cinque Terre in early July 2006. Our accommodations did not have air conditioning (we had a fan) but we slept very well at night. I do not like the heat but it cooled down at night enough so that I slept like a rock! I know we all did. It was hot during the day but we spent our afternoons like the locals--at the beach! Claim a rock and enjoy! Love this place especially at night after all the daytrippers are gone!
