I'm from Florida where a/c is a must, not a luxury, or so it seems. Will it be cooler on the Mediterranean coast in Cinque Terre in August, or just as stiffling as Rome can be?

I was happy to have a/c the July I was there howver a cool nights sleep is imp to me. I am from N. Calif. Also it can be alittle diff to find a/c offered in some smaller hotels.
