My husband and I will be traveling by train from the Cinqueterra to Venice at the end of April. We would like to spend a night in the Tuscan countryside before ending our trip with two nights in Venice. Is there a place that we could reach without a car? Will the train make stops along the way? Any recommendations welcome. This is our first trip to Italy.
Do you have a train schedule or trains schedules from Cinque Terre to Venice? I imagine you will be changing trains. Tuscany will be difficult to access without a car.
I googled your question and suggested train stops are:
Bologna, Ferrara, Padova and Ravenna. They are all very worthwhile and would enhance your trip but are not really in the “countryside.” You will need to find luggage storage wherever you stop as well.
We always rent cars in Tuscany. Consider doing that if you really want to be in the countryside.
